Al Mizan Law Review: Instructions for Contributors
Submissions

Originality: Manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration by any other journal.

Scope: We accept conceptual studies, research excerpts, scholarly legal reflections on Islamic Law, and critical analyses of court decisions (case law).

Language: Submissions must be written in high-standard academic English.

Length & Formatting: * Word Count: 6,000 to 10,000 words.

Layout: A4 paper size, double-spaced.

Typography: Times New Roman, font size 12.

Submission Process: Manuscripts should be submitted through the Al Mizan Law Review website by logging into the system. Alternatively, you may send the manuscript as a Microsoft Word attachment to the editorial board at redaksi.almizan@gmail.com or vivit@uinsi.ac.id
Manuscript Style

Required Elements: Every manuscript must include a title, author name(s), an abstract in English, and keywords.

Abstract: Should be 150–200 words following the IRAC (Issue, Rule, Argument, Conclusion) structure:

Issue: The core problem or research question.

Rule: The theory or legal framework applied.

Argument: The primary analysis or findings.
-
Conclusion: The final summary or resolution.

Keywords: Provide a maximum of 5 relevant words or phrases.

Structure: The body of the text should be organized into:

Introduction

Discussion (Headings and sub-headings as required)

Conclusions
-
Footnotes and References

Citation Style: Use footnotes following the Chicago Manual of Style (18th Edition)—Notes and Bibliography system.

Shortened Citations: For repeated citations, use the author's last name, a shortened title, and the page number.
Example: Hazarin, Tujuh Serangkai, p. 75; Alfitri, "Religious Liberty," p. 19.

Ibid: Use Ibid. if the page is the same as the previous note. Use Ibid., p. 10 if the page is different.

Reference List: A complete bibliography must be included at the end of the article, arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name.
Example: Syaifuddin, Muhammad. Contract Law. Bandung: Mandar CV Maju, 2012.

Tools: We strongly recommend using reference management software such as Zotero or Mendeley.
Arabic Romanization
To ensure consistency in Islamic legal terminology, authors must adhere to the following transliteration standards:
